K-59 series switchgears and controlgears for 6(10) kV
K-59 series switchgears and controlgears are designed for the reception and distribution of three-phase AC electric power with commercial frequencies of 50 Hz and 60 Hz at voltages of 6 kV and 10 kV.
K-59 series switchgears and controlgears are used as 6(10) kV switchgears as well as the switchgears of transformer substations or (modular) package transformer substations of 35/6(10), 110/6(10), 110/35/6(10), or 220/110/35/6(10) kV.
Two versions of the K-59 series outdoor switchgear and controlgears are manufactured: heat-insulated cold-weather version (double-walled with polyurethane foam panels between the walls) with automatically operated heating, and another version, with single walls, is designed for temperate climate.
The K-59 series outdoor switchgear and controlgear represents a block of free-standing high-voltage cubicles, with switchbays, an auxiliary cabinet (auxiliary transformer), and high-frequency communication cabinet. For step-down substations without developed 6(10) kV switchgear, free-standing cabinets with voltage transformers can be provided.
The K-59 series outdoor switchgear and controlgear has the following advantages:

- aluminum and copper busbar;
- reliable interlocking of wrong actions of the maintenance personnel;
- use of all types of high-voltage switching devices located on drawout components;
- microprocessor-based protection units;
- full localization of sections;
- high operational compatibility;
- highly sensitive arc protection on the photothyristors;
- short mounting time;
- state-of-the-art technologies (powder coating, cutting, bending and punching of the metal by means of automated systems) are applied for their manufacturing.
The K-59 series outdoor switchgear and controlgear is designed for the operation in different climatic areas; has U (moderate) and KhL (cold) climatic categories and placement category 1 according to GOST 15150 and GOST 15543 (and climatic categories N and F according to IEC).
Normal operation of the K-59 switchgear and controlgear is provided under the following conditions:
- altitude above sea level: no higher than 1000 m;
- wind velocity: 34 m/s at ice thickness of 20 mm; in the absence of ice, wind velocity is up to 40 m/s.
This switchgear and controlgear is allowed to be used for the operation at an altitude of over 1000 m above sea level; at that, it is necessary to follow the requirements of GOST 8024, GOST 1516.1-1, GOST 14693.
The product has been certified by the National Certification System of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Certification System of the Russian Federation (GOST-R).
