Urban package transformer substations of KTPG (2KTPG) series

Urban package transformer substations of KTPG (2KTPG) series are intended for the reception, transformation, and distribution of three-phase AC electric power of 50 Hz frequency in urban and suburban power supply systems.

KTPG (2KTPG) series substations are designed to operate under the following conditions:

1. temperature range: from -45° С to +40° С;
2. external insulation: insulation class II;
3. area rating in terms of glaze and wind velocity: I-IV according to Electrical Installation Code PUE-86.
4. environment: explosion-proof and fire-proof, containing no current-carrying dust, no reactive gases and vapors (atmosphere of type II).

KTPG (2KTPG) series substations are not meant to operate under jolting and vibration conditions.

The following versions of urban package transformer substations are made:

1. single-ended single-transformer substation (KTPG); 
2. double-ended single-transformer substation (KTPG); 
3. single-ended double-transformer substation (2KTPG); 
4. double-ended double-transformer substation (2KTPG).

Depending on their version, substations are completed with one or two power transformers. On the high-voltage side of 6(10) kV, urban substations have various combinations of inlet-outlet lines: cable inlet – cable outlet (KK); aerial inlet – aerial outlet (VK). On the low-voltage side of 0.4 kV, only cable inlet-outlet lines.

KTPG (2KTPG) series substations can be fed by both cable and aerial inlet of 6(10) kV.

When using aerial inlet on the HV side, urban package transformer substations are equipped with dischargers and a disconnector of 10 kV. The disconnector should be installed on a free-standing pole. Advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) can be installed at the substation.
